I was completely moved by your presence of mind and attitude. There are few people who, during my lifetime have left me with such an impression. Your approach is a breath of fresh air in learning how to co-exist with the horse. Your evaluation of mares has immediately changed my approach to dealing with my own mares and the mares boarded at our facility. Not only does your approach apply to the horse, it has also enabled me to take a different view of my employees at the office. As you aptly put it, “we are all social mammals” and your principles apply equally to horse and human.

I learned so much about horses…
I learned so much about horses, their needs and their true nature. Mary Ann combines science with the ability to tune into horses. She doesn’t sell a “method” like most modern horse “gurus” do, but sees and handles every horse as an individual. I couldn’t think of anyone better to teach horse behaviour and everything else to do with horses.

From consciousness to relationships to horsemanship to self
It was not only a pleasure to welcome you (Mary Ann) to Saughs Farm but your clinic encompassed so much of what goes on with my relationship with horses in a day of our lives. I had been "asking" about a way in which the entire "feel" from consciousness to relationship to the horse...manship to celebrating self could be addressed. And there you came to show us. Her ability to connect with wild horses is unparalleled to this day and communication and body language strategies have taught me how to assess and understand the many wild horse I have rescued over the years. The nose bump, wither scratch has been endlessly useful and my mare has responded so well to the “my space, your space” game.
